I don't have my laptop with me to look at a A6 GXP file. If I'm not mistaken, i think the fuel cut happens at 6600 so maybe the shifts are slightly lower. Hopefully some other HPT/EFI user will chime in.

You trying to match shift points?

On the manual the fuel cutoff is 6600 so, like stated above, I would estimate the shift is earlier....maybe 6400 or so.

Problem is we cant get the tranny to shift were we want it to at WOT. No matter what we command it to do, it always shifts early. Other people have problems bouncing off the rev limiter, I have the opposite problem. Been having this problem for a long time

Did you see the reply on HP Tuners forum to you post?

You have to make the Part Throttle MPH (100% cell) and WOT MPH match and then set the WOT RPM table.

I believe all conditions have to be meet (PT MPH, WOT MPH, WOT RPM) in order for the shift to happen.

Yeah I saw it. I sent a link to my topic to my tuner for him to check out. The technical stuff like that i don't really understand. Mostly because I don't have hptuners so don't really know how its laid out or anything. Other G8's he has tuned didn't have this problem, and at one point I had the VMS tune, and that didn't fix the problem either. When we had the car set to shift at 6000, it would shift around 5500/5600. When we set it to 6200, it would shift at 5800. Now we have it set to shift at 6500, and its shifting around 6200. We can't figure out why. BUT very occasionally, it will shift were it is supposed to. I'm talking like 1 in 1000 but I don't want to set it to shift really high just to get it to shift were I want because of that occasional time it does shift were we tell it to.

Try adjusting shift points by MPH. In manual mode turn all the mphs to 0 and then set the points by rpm.

Tuning the WOT shift points is a nightmare once your car goes above stock HP levels. You have to set MPH as well as RPM and both conditions have to be met before it will shift. Often setting the RPM about 200-300 below where you want it and adjusting the MPH will work. Yours is totally opposite the issue many of us have had so I expect your MPH is just not set right.

Is your car being tuned by a local guy? Is he using the beta version of HPTuners? The beta version has a lot more A6 parameters than the release version.
