Default G8 Owner AGAIN - now time to plan MODS (need HELP)

Some of you may have seen my other posts of my previous G8 (either on here or g8board) when the poor thing got totaled due to a dip **** without proper working brakes.

Well after a little over year away with my Lexus ISF, I finally got a g8 again (reason for the change is partially financial, partially increased functionality of the G8 as a DD family car versus ISF).

I picked up a 09 G8 GT from another forum member actually. It had barely 14k miles on it and the seller was one of the most passionate car enthusiast I have ever met. Car is in pristine condition.

My ISF is currently on sale so wife said the day someone takes it away I can order my mods for my G8 (hopefully in the next 2 to 4 weeks).

    Planned Mods:
    1. Solo HFC & Solo Mach Shorty (not sure balanced or not yet) - had the solo hfc and Mach balanced exhaust on previous G8 and loved it. Wouldn't mind a little louder so thinking Mach Shorty this time.

    2. Pat G Tune - had Vector Tune last time, but want to try Pat G this time around.

    3. VCM Intake - already installed by previous owner. Love the stock like visual look of it so planning to keep it (had Roto Fab on previous G8).

    4. GXP diffuser

    5. Front Splitter

    6. 6000k low beam/3000k fog HIDs

    7. Plasti dip (later powder coat) my stock 18's. I want to eventually add white lettering to the wheels from Treadwearletter.com for the muscle car look. I have seen it on another G8 and loved it (photo included courtesy of owner I follow on Instagram).

    8. Suspension Upgrade (HELP NEEDED) - This car will be my DD and tons of miles will be put on it. It will not be taken to the track and it will not be taken to the drag strip. I do spirited driving on a daily basis and do want something that can take a corner (spoiled by my ISF). I have read tons of threads and there is just too much information/opinions out there. I figured I give you guys my overall use for the car and you guys can help pick the parts. Budget for suspension (since I plan to keep my Stock 18) is about $1,000 to $1,500 max.

Here are a few photos of the previous G8, ISF and my new White G8. Also included photo of white g8 with white lettering on the tires and overall look that I am going for.

Welcome back! That's a nice clean looking G8. I'll assume you're generally handy and will install yourself and that the car is fully stock. With that in mind please consider getting a complete car bushing kit, set of FE3 or PPV struts/shocks, lowering springs, and revised front LCA's, and then search for a used set of sways. Should put you at about $1500. You could save a bit if you didn't get all the bushings. Also, check out the Suspension Upgrade Summary sticky for more ideas. Lastly, this car is heavy and upgrading rotors/pads/lines/fluid will help immensely.

Thanks for the info man. I definitely will educate myself more on suspension in the next few weeks. Even though I don't track my car, i do spirited driving and enjoy taking the corners. Probably down the line, I will also upgrade the brakes to help this baby stop.

Its good to be back. So hard not waiting to mod. Taking all the mods off the ISF tomorrow actually so I can lower the price and get it out of here asap so I can start my G8 mods .

Glad to see you on both of the forums

Thanks man. Just started ordering some mods today.

Ordered the Solo Mach Shorty Unbalanced, Solo HFC, and GXP Diffuser. Now waiting on Pat G to reply and also figure out suspension part list.

If you're planning on getting headers anytime soon, you might want to consider ditching the solo HFC's and getting their connection pipe for Kooks headers. It includes the HFC's already and will mate up to kooks longtubes.

Actually headers will probably not be for a while. Wife and I decided on a budget for the car mods and headers will just have to wait .

For now I am just going to do the Exhaust, HFC, Tune, GXP Diffuser, Suspension, HID's, Front Splitter. Just having a hard time wrapping my head around getting a list of suspension parts together.

Later on (probably another year or so), then may consider headers. Appreciate the info. though. Hopefully will come back to it down the line.
