    Default Transmission:@55mph wot only downshifts to 3rd gear

    I have a gt and a gxp and noticed my gxp only downshifts to 3rd gear wot@ 55mph....the gt will downshift to 2nd....anyone have any thoughts? Thanks

    Gearing is different between the two.

    With all the power of the 6.2l gxp, it seems that it should be geared to take advantage of the extra power...not reduce it! What options are there to tweek the shift points? Thanks

    It is geared to take advantage of it. GT has 2.92s in the rear, GXP auto has 3.27s and GXP manual has 3.70s.

    this. Put it in manual and run 2nd gear to 55. What are the RPMs? Anything over 5500 stock cammed is useless to shift into.
    Yes for us larger guys that screw can be a pain!

    08 G8 GT, IOM, Rotofab, HSRK, Kooks LTs, track pipes, Custom engine covers, catch can, radiator cover, and tranny tunnel brace. 402hp/396tq - not bad for a bolt -on car.
    8.43 1/8th; 2.01 60' - no skillz.
