    Default arp torque specs

got the new headgaskets in and installed... i have all the headbolts snugged.

Im going to go back tomorrow after work and torque them down..what are the tq spec of the arp head bolts..do the bolts in the center of the head have diff tq spec as the ones around the head? also what sequence do i go in.. this is my first headgasket change on a ls motor.. and why the hell do the heads have so many bolts lol....

anything else i need to know? i went with ls9 head gaskets if that makes a difference..

i also have a catch can on the way.. do i hook it up the same was as i did with my other g8? if anybody has pics of a catch can installed on a twin g8 can i see them so i will know where its needed most please...

    Here's the tightening sequence:

I'm not sure if the ARP bolts are different, but the procedure with stock bolts is:

    1. Tighten the M11 cylinder head bolts (1-10) a first pass in sequence to 30 Nm (22 lb ft) .
    2. Tighten the M11 cylinder head bolts (1-10) a second pass in sequence to 90 degrees using the J 45059 - meter.
    3. Tighten the M11 cylinder head bolts (1-10) a final pass in sequence to 70 degrees using the J 45059 - meter.
    4. Tighten the M8 cylinder head bolts (11-15) to 30 Nm (22 lb ft) . Begin with the center bolt (11) and alternating side-to-side, work outward tightening all of the bolts.

Well I just checked ARP's website and found these instructions: http://arpinstructions.com/instructions/134-3610.pdf (I'm assuming these are the bolts you have) It seems you tighten the first 10 bolts to 75 ft-lbs, and then the final 5 to 25 ft-lbs, in three equal steps.

Glad you are almost done with the head gaskets replacement. I got the ARP studs and the ls9 gaskets yesterday, will pull the heads this weekend.

yeah i had to get my heads surfaced a little but that was it.. good thing my friend owns a machine shop here or i would have been waiting a week just to get it the heads checked out..

i had to do it pretty quick because im going to have the tune checked out sat(since im going up there with a customers gt500 to get tuned anyway)...so want to get it fixed and go over everything to make sure its all good...the car is my daily so as much as i hate meth kits i think im going to throw one on the car also b4 the weekend just for safety...dont give a crap about if it add hp to the car just want the cooling factor and the lil added octane im not going to have the car meth dependent by any means though....just a lil safety since its a daily..

im probably going to do like 6-7lbs for the daily cruiseing and when i need to bust some ass just go up to about 9lbs....
