    Default Toyota Camry, bad vibration/shake.

    I have a 2005 Toyota Camry, SE V6. It has a 5speed auto.I've got 55K on the odo. Tires are maybe 4 or 5/32.

I have a bad shake at all speeds, but only under load. Any throttle input gets a nasty shake/vibration. If you are coasting down a hill in N, the shake isn't there.

It's only under load. It feels like a way out of balance tire/bent rim. But wouldn't that give me a shake regardless of throttle input?

Bad engine mount or bent axle. Tire or wheel would do it in neutral or coast as well. I would guess engine mount. Pop the hood and have someone get in the car and put in drive, foot brake it and see if engine moves up, if it does it is putting axle in a bind and this is causing your issue.

I was thinking maybe a mount, There is no reason for a bent axle.

I guess I should stop practicing my launch technique in the Toyota.

I replaced both the front axle's in the Camry I had owned. Are the boots for the CV joints still intact? I say unlikely.
    Rest in Peace Charlie!

Best fix will only cost you a total of $1.00 at the dollar tree or it's a dollar store. Go in and buy a pack of dish rags for a $1. Take one out of the pack and open up the fuel door on the Toyota. Insert rag as far in as you can get it but leave a bit out hanging. Light rag and run like hell. Watch the car blow up and start burning down to the ground. Call insurance company and report it. Take the money and buy a used G8 GT for $20k.

Note- Make sure you do this in a parking lot without camera's and have a good alibi for you so you can plead ignorance.

Don't knocked those Camry's too much. My beater is a 1990 Camry with 189,000 miles. It gets me back and forth to work without fail. I paid $1000 for the car 7 years ago.

I've replaced the front axles about a year ago with a set from a wrecked Camry.

    Quick Update:

I dropped it off at the dealership Tuesday. They called me on 12-31, but I didn't get the message until after they closed.

I just talked to the service adviser, they have a re-man transmission ordered for it. It seems they are hearing noises from the trans, I didn't.

It's covered under warranty, so I don't care. As long as it's working when I get it back.
