I noticed the ethanol % in gas (around my area atleast) has gone up from 10 to 15. Does that change anything that I have to be doing (changing fuel filter more often etc.)? Also is this going to affect the engine long term? Thanks

If 10% doesn't have an affect on the fuel system then 15% won't affect it either. The components in the fuel system are made to withstand exposure to ethanol.
Do you have facts or evidence that say it can't?
SEMASAN fought this. I can't believe 15 percent ethanol is available already. I don't want that shit in my G8. Indiana doesn't label their pumps on ethanol. You don't know if you are buying gas with ethanol or not. I had a link to what states lbel their pumps but can't find it.
Water condinsation will hurt. Ethanol turns to crap when water gets in it.
EPA said it had approved the use of 15 percent ethanol and 85 percent gasoline known as E15, up from the current E10 sold at most pumps, for model year 2001-2006 passenger vehicles.
EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson made the decision after a review of Energy Department testing and other data on E15's effect on emissions.
"Recently completed testing and data analysis show that E15 does not harm emissions control equipment in newer cars and light trucks," Jackson said. "Wherever sound science and the law support steps to allow more home-grown fuels in America's vehicles, this administration takes those steps."
Besides its effect on seals and the like, ethanol also raise exhaust temperatures. So if your emission control equipment's not up to spec, you can burn your cats. Not sure what effect this would have on our cars, since the EPA admin's statement is obviously general to a fault. And anyone with an older car is screwed.

ethanol only eats up lines and seals in old cars i thought this was a well known FACt already theres a couple of guys running 100 percent e85 on stock lines on the other boards or whatever blend the e85 stations use 80/20 or whatever.

I can show evidence that all Holden fuel systems built after 1986 are designed to handle up to 10% ethanol.
I can show the warnings in the Pontiac G8 service manual and owners manual about using fuel with greater than 10% ethanol content.
I can also show you the design modifications made to the Series2 VE Commodore "Flex-fuel" versions to enable them to run on straight gasoline or any blend up to 85% ethanol.
At some point between 10% and 85% ethanol, modifications to the fuel system became necessary....the manufacturer obviously has not published how far you can push their 10% rating on non-flex fuel vehicles.
New Flex-fuel Components for 2011 Series2
Holden’s Energy and Environment Director Richard Marshall said the ethanol-blend fuel, also known as E85, would be suitable for vehicles within the new Holden Commodore VE Series II range, launching in the coming months.
“In a major step towards creating a cleaner Australian fuel landscape, many VE Series II customers will be able to run their cars on high ethanol blend fuel, which, international studies have shown, has the potential to reduce vehicle CO₂ emissions by up to 40 per cent, when compared to petrol.*"
He said Caltex’s Bio E-Flex consisted of up to 85 per cent ethanol, blended with 15 per cent petrol. While vehicles in the Series II range would be capable of running on this fuel, he said they would have flex-fuel capability, allowing them to also run on Caltex Bio E-Flex, Bio E10, Unleaded, Premium or any combination.
How does a flex-fuel Commodore differ to those without the capability?
Holden has made modifications to its flex-fuel models to enable them to run on unleaded, E10, premium, E85 or a combination of these fuels. Modifications include hardened valves and valve seats and the inclusion of a flex-fuel sensor, which gauges the alcohol content of the fuel and adjusts the calibration accordingly.
