Why would one want to take these off? I have 2 divots where someone may have had a bike rack, is this how that could be fixed?

I'm taking mine off to do something to my roof...

Pics of the dents? They on the rails or the roof?

I don't have pics of the dents and they're towards the rear about 6 inches from the left and right about 2 inches from the rear window. looks like two golf balls hit it, HARD!

They come off real easy. I take mine off anytime I wax or buff the car.

Using a plastic pry bar I lift up one end until I can get a finger under it and then just pull the whole thing off.
