Question It's time to break some axles - what 305's to order?

I ordered some 18x10.5, 56mm offset, Z06 knockoff wheels for the rear of my G8. Now I need to figure out what tires to buy for the strip. I don't care about treadwear, I want max traction. I'm thinking a 305/35-18 is the size to shoot for but I have no idea what kind of tire or brand to go for and looking for some advice.

I managed a best of 11.995@122 with a 2.0 60 foot hot lapping the last time I went. There was tons of wheel spin starting in 2nd gear, 1st gear was unusable. Hopefully I can get something faster with some sticky tires!

In that size, your best bet will be the Mickey Thompson Drag Radials. I ran them on my G8 and quite a few other cars, they have a great bite to them, so you shouldnt have a problem hookin up with them.

I can get you out a set today, if you like.

Hook me up with a price! I need to find the measurements of the tire somewhere. You think this tire is the best I can get?

Maybe I could get a 315 to fit, but the 305 will fit my car, even as low as it sits now. I think! If I could get my hands on a 315 to test fit I would do it, but I don't want to spend all the $ on it just to find out it won't work.

Just keep in mind that certain tires run wide, I know the M/T's are known to run wide so maybe you wanna stick with the 295/45/17 like Parish runs.

Can you get the wheel/tire combination on the car without cutting or grinding anything? I'm going to need new DRs soon and I might as well go to a wider tire with the cam coming next year.

I have to run 18's btw.... I was just looking at the dimensions of the MT's. The 305/35-18 is wider than the 315! It's fat but I think I can make it fit.... They have a 305/40-18 that looks like it's a tad narrower but taller.
