    Default Cam sensor

When the check engine light I was not really concerned, Now it is in the shop and the service mgr. did not sound confident in the repair. Said it would be a few days??? A cam sensor issue. I was told the intake needed to be removed to access the cam sensor and removing shims to order the correct replacement shim. Then I started researching online and read all about these related cam problems including head, cam and entire engine block replacement. WTF only 3000 miles (not driving in snow)

Thats kind of like saying you saw somewhere that moles can turn malignant and now you think your going to die because you have a few.

Relax, every car is going to have its issues.

That was my point to find out how common this was? The car is repaired now, took almost a week. I was told it was excessive cam shaft end play on 1 bank. Shims were added or changed. All seems well.

It's not common at all. You're just lucky.

LowCal, how many miles on the car? Is the cam problem something that is occuring at low miles? I am at 27K, only engine related problem that I have had was the gas cap. Car runs clean, starts fine, idles great and has no hesitation.

    So he lied.
There's 4 cam sensors and if you couldn't remove and replace all 4 in 30 minutes total, then you should shoot yourself.

There's 2 in there, a better camera angle would show them both.
