Thread: Toyota Camry, bad vibration/shake.

    Wait, so a car that shakes only under load suddenly has a bad tranny? Sounds like the service technicians were "seeing what she could do" lol.

    Something isnt right with that diagnosis. I think a warranty claim will be made and the trans will get replaced and the new mount done at the same time.

    I gave the guy the "What??? Why does it need a trans???" on the phone. Like I said, they claim the trans is "making a noise".

    If they want to do it, fine with me, it should be done by Tuesday or Wednesday. As long as they fixed the vibration.

    I stopped at the dealership to get some stuff out of the car. They told me that the cv boots were torn and that's why the axles were clunking.

    So, it will be 2 axles and a trans.

    Funny...I was thinking Torque Converter...Free trannys are hard to come by. Never look a gift horse in the mouth...or stand behind one.

    I understand your vehicle is under warranty, but you still need to watch them closely. some of them are shady.

    I broke my 02 SS camaro little 10 bolt. took to dealer for warranty work. 2 day later service rider called and said my car is ready for pick up, went to sign the paper work (warranty cover all) and see beside the rear end replacement, the "head gasket kit" caught my eye. I ask them what is this, they told me my LS1's head gasket was leaking so they went ahead replace it (in which they never touch anything under the hood) anyone work on their own car knows what I am talking about.

    so after we clear things up and make sure the tech did not touch anything under the hood, I realize its just dealer trying to screw warranty company for $$$$

    Finally got my car back tonight. They had it for a week. The best part is, wait for it..........., the shake is still there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


    FUCK!


    The trans was replaced (looks bight and new) and looking under the car with a flashlight, it appears that both shafts are new also.

    The best part is the print out states that the car was road tested. Um, bullshit, there is no way you drive this thing and say "yep, it's fine".

    So, I get to drive down there tomorrow and complain. I still say there was nothing wrong with the trans in the first place. I think they took the "shotgun" approach and missed.

    I picked it up after the Service Dept was closed for the day.

    please provide a list or parts replaced. I am interested to know what was done exactly.
