i have yet to understand the reasoning for the flashpaq... you could buy the hp tuners suite for $250 more and do a lot more... or you could find a local tuner who can optimize everything for $300...

I agree. It's just simplicity, do it in your driveway then enjoy the results, why the handhelds are sellers. I'd rather have a proper tune for my setup, instead of a baseline tune, regardless if all I have is a CAI. Plus, most shops only charge anywhere from $0-$250 for a retune, for if/when you do more modding to the car and the type of mods, due to the fact the credits for you car have already been purchased.
