Looks almost exactly like it goes into "dark" mode.
Is the speedo going out as well, IE dark and the needle drops.
I got to thinking it might be an issue over with that switch grounding out and causing the panel to drop out.

In the beginning When the cluster went out the speedo/tach remain frozen wherever they are once the cluster stops working. But now that both those gauges are innop all the time they just remain at 0, even if the cluster is working...Originally Posted by Napalm

Cluster panel is merfed somewhere - not sure how to fix that other than swap in another panel. Could still be the wires to the panel but I don't know how else to check that other than to trade in a working panel.
