    Default Car Warranty's on my Holden

    Hi all,

    I i just got the Rat covered for 5yr/100,000 miles engine tranny a/c starters alternators the Enhanced Policy for $187.00/month from Car Shield.

    since the Rat has 177,268 miles on it

    Need some advice from you all!

    Sounds more like an insurance policy than a warranty to me. $187 x 12 months x 5 years is $11,200. I could buy a lot of parts for that money...

    I guess so but when I use the car every day out in the middle of bum fuck egypt and the miles keep rolling up sooner or later something will take a shit like the first engine did at 98,200 miles and that would of been a BIG hit if it had happened out of warranty.

    I guess for most of you all the cars dont get driven like mine every day 1,200+ miles a week

    That's a used diesel jetta with under 100k.
    40 mpg and good for 300k

    Your G8 with 177,000 miles is worth considerably less than $11,000. You would be better off saving the money and having a nice down payment on something else when it finally needs a repair too expensive to fix.

    I would not waste of money. I could have got a warranty on my V6 but what they wanted was nuts, this was in 2012 i passed.
