Default LSA conversion questions (pin kit and pulley size)

Picked up most of the parts needed to cam swap and go with the lsa blower.

    Couple of questions...

What crank pin kit should I be looking at if using the LSA balancer? (is the magnuson kit good enough)

The blower is being rebuilt and I need to make a choice on the pulley. What size pulley would you suggest for say 550 to the wheels? (stock exhaust with LS9 cam)

    Thanks

I dunno about the Pully. I would think stock lsa will make 550 with a cam. I would leave it stock until you have headers. That's me tho.

Pin kit. Any ls pin kit will work. Shop ctsv fitment. or the Magnuson kit will be just fine.

If you want to ask more people on the Pully look into cts fourms or Facebook owner pages.

When I originally installed my LSA SC I went with a 2.38 pulley, was also using oem ctsv balancer. Made 580rwhp at 13psi. The 2.38 requires milling of the snout since it's so small. The Griptech 2.45 is another good option and doesn't require milling.
Make sure to change out the stock 2 piece isolator with the latest version of the LPE solid isolator. The others may cause problems after a while...

    not really looking for 13+pounds.

Any idea what kind of boost and power i would be at with a 2.45 pulley. Thats what they were going to ship the blower back with but that seemed like a big increase over the factory pulley that makes 8.5

IMO, the ATI pin is the way to go. It's essentially a key, similar to factory. Any dampener with a keyway will work. If you use the other style, and have to swap dampeners, you will have to drill again. FWIW, ATI dampeners can be had on ebay - have to watch/search agent and pounce. They are typically cosmetic blems at significant discount.

As for the power, I'm at 540rwhp on a conservative calibration. Stock upper pulley, 5% lower, BTR2 cam. Was thinking, actually had in garage, a LS9 cam then decided since I had it apart, put a different cam in than whats in countless GM products. Runs great, only motorheads can tell it's not stock by idle quality.

    Here is the ati pin:

So if you use the ATI pin kit it will work with both a stock balancer then maybe later the ATI balancer?

My G8 is using the stock Camaro ZL1 harmonic balancer. Stock LSA with my 419 made 575 to the wheels in high DA. It's only making 5 psi.

I make about 11 psi on a 2.55 pulley and a stock lower, blower's ported though with full exhaust. Your stock exhaust is going to hold you back.

    Thanks for all the info...

Ended up doing the 2.55 pulley and magnuson crank pin kit.

Also ended up doing ID 850 injectors.
