New owner new Member. In the forums I occasionally see some G8's referred to as 2009.5. are they referring to a production date or a significant change in configuration.

Most obvious changes incorporated in the 09.5 were the addition of Bluetooth, cup holder in the center of the lower rear seat cushion, upgraded lifters, 8 quart oil capacity vs. 8.8 in previous years.

Did you buy it new? Many bought the module to give the older cars BT which may be the case with your car.

My earlier 09 has an L... There is a vin break in the last several digits though. In the last 6 digits, if it's 300000 or higher, it's an 09.5. I think it's 3 anyway.

    Default MY09.5 when from ?

I understood all MY09.5 were built from October 2008 (whether Holden domestic, Holden export or HSV).
HSV Senator SV08 manual MY09.5. LS3 & TR6060. Eibach springs on factory MRC. Walkinshaw (HM) 2.5" catback. Currently being rebuilt.
Existing: Harrop HTV1900 FDFI super, Harrop OTR, Harrop/ZL1 fuel pump, Harrop (Serck) oil cooler, Comp Cams Rocker Arm Trunnion Upgrade, 160 degree thermo, NGK IZTR5B-11, Powerbond OEM replacement harmo, PSI valve springs, LSM Engineering cam, Trend pushrods, GM AC belt retention kit. Installed & tuned mafless by Sam's Performance, 9psi 586rwhp. Lifters / cam case hardening has failed - noisy.
Rebuild: Diamond pistons/rings, Callies rods, LS7 lifters, new (same grind) cam, dual valve springs, Powerbond PB1117-SS harmo, new oil pump, new ACL race bearings throughout, bore/hone, heads serviced. Installed & tuned mafless by Sam's Performance - results to come !
