Timing chain issue

Thinking about getting a v6 G8 but I'm reading all this timing chain issues with the 3.6engine. Is it a "it's gonna happen" or it is a random issue? I hate to go buy a G8 and have to turn around and fork big bucks for a chain replacement. Thoughts?

I've had two V6 G8's and one had 197K miles and the other had 220K miles with absolute zero issues at all. I never had a timing chain issue. In my opinion the people who have had the timing chan issues are guys who rev their engine a lot. I never rev my engine. I change my oil every 3500 miles and I only use Mobile 1. Also I took off that engine cover because that only helps to keep the heat on the engine rather than letting it dissipate and cool.
