Default Any advice on sealing slip fit?

My ARH headers leak at the slip fit connection. The supplied clamps broke, so I tried the walker clamps....I think it actually made it worse. The smell comes right through the vents at idle. I was thinking of getting the accuseal clamps and putting ultra copper inside.

Mine did the same. I used a crap load of ultra copper and the flat clamps. It worked pretty good until I had them welded Not mine, but this is how I had mine done.

Thanks, my only concern with any sealant is putting it pre cat. I do not want it to break off and ruin the cat

Maybe if I don't over apply the RTV, it will be ok? I hate leaks, it is coming right into the car at idle and giving me a headache after a while. Why did ARH go slip fit?

If Kooks weren't so expensive, I'd sell these and buy them but man $1700+ for a new set of catted headers, no thanks.

Ordered thick, SS 3 bolt flanges. I am just going to have them welded on and be done with it. I hate slip fits!

    Update..

Logged a cold start and the bank 1 trims were +25%. I must have a leak at or before the 02 bung, so I don't think the slip fit connection is causing this since it's fairly downstream from the 02.

The trims came back to normal once the headers heated up.
