    so there i was on the way back from the 757 (va beach) having just come from a car show for the weekend. I had an almost full cooler, 4 chairs, 2 bags, my wife, full size spare full sized jack, cordless impact and almost3/4 of a tank of fuel, oh and however much sand that got tracked into the car from the beach. Me and a couple other club members are cruising home and since traffic was crappy, we didnt really get a chance to "play" like we normally do but the time was coming!! we get almost back to richmond and the blue 135 comes barreling down the highway and passes us, slows down and then pulls ahead again. Ive seen the car and him at our dealership before and knew it had mods, some programming/tuning for sure but didnt know to what extent. I wait, waiting on my buddy in the C7 to pounce but he doesnt budge. so i pull up next to him with a grin on my face as if to say if your not, then I will. i catch up to the 135 make sure the methanol is on and wait. 3rd gear at about 70 and he mats it, I follow suit and pull him in, then let off. he pulls up to me and says he needs a lower gear and mentioned that the car is "stock". I ruin his surprise by telling him i work at the dealership that repairs his car and have seen it before. we slow to about 40 or so (maybe slower) and i give him second, again I pull on him and let off due to catching up with traffic. at this point i havent even gotten out of 3rd gear to see what she will really do. so I back off and the C7 (supercharged) gives it a go, the 135 keeps up pretty well but cant hang at the upper end. finally traffic is almost non exhistant and i have an opportunity, I look at my wife and tell her to hold on (as if she wasnt already) we roll at 70 3rd gear, methanol on, rockin and rolling!!! i get the jump and keep on pulling, no traffic ahead, the car hits 4th when i let out im about 3-4 car lengths ahead of him. no idea how fast we got up to. we slow down he doesnt give me a thumbs up and looks upset but i got what i wanted.

    fast forward to today, he comes in and asks to speak to me, I go and talk to him and to my surprise he offers to buy my car!! I tell him its not for sale but ill keep him in mind. after talking to him for a bit I find out its got turbo upgrade(dont know exactly what they are), bigger FMIC, suspension etc and it making somewhere between 450-500. he didnt mention if that was BHP or WHP but i imaging if it was WHP i wouldnt have been in front of him. left with a handshake and a "that thing is impressive" and he wanted to know if i did sidework haha.

    500WHP is a BIG jump in power over stock, but a win is a win!

    2009.5 MSM GXP 500ish N/A RWHP. Mods include but aren't limited to: Texas Speed 418 (6.8L) fully forged held together with ARP from top to bottom, PRC 255cc heads, Rick Crawford intake plenum, TB port, polish and tune, Roto-Fab 102mm CAI w/LS7 MAF, Kooks 1-7/8" headers wrapped with DEI, Corsa catless system, Circle D 3200 Stall, 3.45 final drive, BMR's complete street bushing kit and sway bars, Eibach Pro Kit, G-Force Axles, running on staggered VMR 710's with Bridgestone RE11 rubber. HSV triple gauge pack with Calais smokers kit mod, V6 tails, debadge/rebadge, V6 door handles, AU black door trim, Maverick Man under hood strut covers, & washer and bolt kit, fully corrected paint thanks to Adams Polishes and my hard work. Built with reliability in mind with some power for those times when you need to pass or go over a big hill. Just a poser, not a racer!

    yeah, Im pretty sure if he was @500 RWHP this would have never happened haha. for comparison, the same upgrades minus the turbos from Dinan puts them at around 398/429 BHP.

    Sure wish I knew you guys were down here. Would have been nice to put a face to the name. What car show were you at? At the beach?

    yeah on the boardwalk. youve met me before, i went to a track day at MIR with a few 757 guys when my car was NA. I think you may have been having problems with your diff? hows that going?

    Yes, I remember you now. I was having diff issues. I have since replaced the fluid with some Amsoil and have yet to see if I will still have a one wheel burnout out once it is hot. Won't test it until I get to the track again. No time soon sorry to say.
