Default KONI Yellows with Eibach Springs

Stole the template from G8 Ray – Thanks!

    Purchased From: (URL) http://www.koni-na.com/

Installation: (Use easy, moderate, involved, or difficult) involved
    Installation Time: Had professionally done

Quality of Part: (rate 1-10) 9
    Product Performance: (rate 1-10) 9
Would you Recommend to Others: Absolutely

Any Other Comments: A few people wondered why I had to have Eibachs and now you know. My G8 GT was the test mule for their FSD product KONI was planning to bring out for our cars. As you can see, I have Yellows which are their sport product and not FSDs. The trial did not go well for the new product on our car. The developers told me it drove like a big Buick and kind of bounced all over the place. So for my troubles they outfitted my car with the Yellow Sports. It makes my car feel even more like my BMW 335i that I had.

Best way to give an idea of what they drive like. I know this is NOT scientific, but gives an idea. There is a good hard turn near my work that I have been able to “test” my car on here are my observations.
    1. Stock – Could make the turn at low 40s with rear tire squeal.
    2. Pedders FSB – Could make the turn at mid 40s with front tire squeal.
    3. KONIs and Eibachs plus FSB – Can make at 50 to 51mph with no tire squeal

The car drives really well and I think most people would like it. Now I want to try tightening the front FSB all the way (I have them on 3 of 4 now) and tighten up the front KONIs. Then see how it runs. Rears are pretty tight already.

    That's bad ass.

I'd love to be able to carve corners like that!

    Any idea of lateral G's?

I will have to test it out ,but did not get a chance yet. I will run the Dynolicious once I get all my electronics back in the car. I took everything out while they had my car for a couple days. I am on all seasons so it will be better once I get back on my super summers.

What is Pedders FSB? Is it strut bushings?

Also, after going to the Koni site there was no option to purchase the fronts and something was also mentioned about needing to re-use the stock strut casings. Can this possibly be correct?

    Sorry, front sway bar.

Yeah, I think they take your fronts and take the guts out then put new guts in it. That is what they did with mine. KONI does a lot of custom valving so maybe that is their approach on certain low volume cars. My friends S2000 was just off the shelf ,but KONI probably thinks they would get more volume there.

Just an update on the KONIs

"Right now we do not have the sales volume necessary to make a full strut. The tooling for a strut is very expensive so we are now only offering the inserts with the extra work."
