    Default 2009 pontiac g8 snapping noise

    I recently bought a 09 g8 and this week i can hear a snapping noise when i turn the wheel all the way to the left and right. has anyone had this problem? here is a video

    check your strut bushings and bearings

    Sorry, i should have mentioned that iv checked the strut mounts and tie-rods and lower control arms and everything seems tight i even checked the bolt on the steering knuckle. the noise seems to be coming from the center of the car under the motor, could the rack be causing that noise?

    you need to put the car on the loft and have someone under the car check to see and hear where the nose is coming from

    Probably the rack. There is one bushing on the passenger side I believe and it could be loose or worn.
    Definitely get someone to look and someone to turn the wheel. It might not happen with no load on the car so if you can find a pit that would be best.

    well i found out that it was the two bolt's on the driver side was a little loose. tighten them up and no more noise. thanks for the advice guys.
