Agreed on the mileage, but not on the $5k. Also, since the GXP is a sedan, the fair cts-v comparison would also be the sedan.

Having owned two CTS (Not Vs of course) I would still take the G8..... As much as I like the M37S.... I would still take the G8, even with the 6 cylinder. Especially after the way I had modded the suspension.... Neither the CTS, nor the M37S came close. ....... I have a feeling that on my death bed, I will be whispering G8,G8, G8......

Going to be hard pressed to have a g8 out perform a cts-V without spending enough to have just bought a used V (that's the cost of the g8 plus the mods).
G8 GT with 100k miles = $13-15k, DOD delete with cam is $3k, suspension is $1-2.5k, super charger is $3-7k, exhaust is $0.5-2.5k, brakes are $1-3k, probably missing something.
CTS-V with 100k miles = $30-32k and has a better resale value.
That said, you can buy someone else's modded g8 gt and get all the mods for 50-80% off if you're a trusting soul.
