Default Need to purchase a new valve body section just not sure which.

I've been getting a P0989 code (Transmission Fluid Pressure (TFP) Switch 5 Circuit Low Voltage) when I go WOT and I had the TCM replaced as thats what I was told to be the issue from one person and another said to relace the valve body. Well I went with replacing the TCM turns its not the issue...1100 dollars later. So now I'm back to doing what I should have done in the first place and replaced the section of the valve body with this switch. I'm trying to find which part this is though. I know there is an upper and lower section. Does anyone know which section contains the faulty switch?

The TFP Switches are part of the TECHM (TCM) assembly. If you replaced the TCM, the switches were replaced as well.

Getting the Low Voltage code doesnt mean that the switch isnt working, it means the state of the switch is not expect by the TCM for the current gear.

The #5 TFP Switch receives pressure when the 4-5-6 clutch is applied (the LOW state of the switch). If you get the code going into WOT, it is probably the transmission shifting down into at least 3rd gear where the 4-5-6 clutch is released. Something is not bleeding off the pressure when the 4-5-6 is released. I would suspect a sticky piston in the valve body... the 4-5-6 regulator valve is in the upper valve body.

I was looking at Pace Performance for a valve body and contacted Greg. He informed me pace doesn't sell them separately and come already paired. But he might be able to get you a part number.

The trans has it's issue in the 1-2 and 3-4 shift at WOT.

I'll have to give him a call. I found a 6l80e parts supplier online and they have a decent price for the upper and lower vb.

    No 2-3 issues?

Just the typical delayed shift. 1-2 and 3-4 the rpm gets stuck around 5k and hangs there for about 2 second then you'll feel a bang and it goes back to accelerating for another second before it hits the next gear

I got the exact same code of P0989. The car slips on high rpm. My switch 5 is low on voltage and the dude that diagnosed my car said that the valve body is shorted to ground and it is internally grounded. He said the individual parts aren't serviceable either so he recommended I get the valve body already built such as this one. https://suncoastdiesel.com/i-3050218...alve-body.html
would this be the right move?
