Default G8 ZL1 fuel pump gas gauge calibration

This is for those of you who have installed a ZL1 fuel pump. You may have noticed that your gas gauge is off by about an 1/8th of a tank after the fuel pump installation. When you fill up completely it won't go past the full mark like it used to and it also is nearly completely empty if you wait to fill up until it's on E. This calibration will fix those issues and puts the gas gauge back to where it used to be with the factory fuel pump assembly.

All you have to do is copy the fuel tank/gauge tables over from this cal to your current cal. This is simply taking the ZL1 primary fuel sender values, capacities, and adding the new capacities of the primary sender to the factory secondary sender for their new totals. This is also assuming that you left the secondary sender alone like most people do when doing the ZL1 fuel pump assembly. I have tested this on all model/year G8s at this point.

I don't have the Zl1 pump but most likely will eventually. Thanks Nic!

I don't think you will be able to use the same settings but it may work if you find the correct ones.
Part of the problem is the G8 sender on the V pump. The float never touches the bottom even when the arm is all the way down.

Yeah the CTS-V is a different story mainly because it's float travel doesn't match our tanks then it will never be accurate at that point.

Thank you Sir. I tried to calculate how much gas I had so I could drag race today.
    Rest in Peace Charlie!

It cost me $80 to fill up the other day.. I blame your cal.

In all seriousness though, is this for guys who have put the G8 float on the ZL1 pump or bent the ZL1 hangar? Or if you just dropped the ZL1 in? I did a straight drop in and am using your cal, but I actually ran the car out of gas the other day. In all fairness the low fuel light was on, but only for about 10 miles of cruising.
