Btw, I've changed to a Gatorback belt as the Green one started making noise and was just too tight. My length might not work for everyone as I think it depends on MY; mine is a 2009. Here's the info:
Gatorback 18032012 on the belt, P/N 4081045/9PK2655 104.5 inch length
2009 Hot White G8 GT, CTS-V v1 fronts, Camaro 20's, BMR Sways, Eibach Springs, Rear Cradle bushings. GXP FE3's, BMR rear susp. Kooks 1 7/8 LT headers, RCR custom 3” exhaust, ported LSA blower, 2.38 pulley; Ported heads and TB; LS7 MAF, Racetec pistons, Scat rods, CTS-V crank; FAST 85 injectors; RCR Lunati cam: 223/238 .615/.601, 116 +2 LSA. CTS-V pump/VaporWorx cntlr. Built trans, Methanol injection. Rick Crawford built and tuned. Best 1/4 9.68 @142, 1.42 60'.

Do the alternator and PS pulleys just bolt and unbolt, or do you have to use a puller on them?

the alternator pulley is just unbolt - your impact here will be perfect. The PS one requires a puller; I just rented one from AutoZone and it worked well.

I got the ATI blemish damper yesterday. That is the nicest blemish I have ever seen. The sticker was a little off center, and one small hairline scratch, but other than that it looked perfect. Much nicer than my rusty and paint flaking off stock balancer.

I have the rest of the pieces on order so in the next couple weeks I will have crank pulley fun time again.

I think I may paint the PS pulley to make it a little more stockish looking.

Doug, have you seen an increase in boost pressure since putting this together?

Not from elimination of belt-slip; from all I could tell I didn't ever have slip, the belt would just come apart. I have increased boost to 15 psi though since going to 8-rib and everything is holding together quite nicely so far.

    Default Lower Idle

All the parts have arrived, so it is time to bug Doug again. For the lower idler (89102) there is a deep side and a shallow side. The 5 mm gets machined off which side? I assume the shallow side since you put a washer behind it. Also the extra belt width is to the front of the engine. Correct me if I am wrong.
