Corn maybe but not likely Ethanol Inc.

Here in Australia all spent sugar cane pulp (renewable biomass) is made into liquor by the megalitre, sold without tax at almost the same price at the pump as ancient fossil juice from the Saudis. It's a massive rort, filthy lucre to be had, disgusting markup, business is booming.
However as most people can't use e85 because of the threat of hydrous contamination and adaptive tuning to Flex Fuel, most tax free ethanol is sold to petrol companies as 10-25% additive (e10-e25) to boost octane of fossil fuel to 95RON and 100RON.
Tuning and a bit of condensation doesn't stop Aussie enthusiasts running rotaries, to black Max Rockatansky falcons with wieand 14/10 gm root's type sitting high on the hood, to fancy euro trash with twin / quad blowers grinning at the e85 pump stand.
Because nothing at the pump beats e85 on the dyno - 6% guaranteed, 10% possible.

Compression is King. Race-built VVT brawler hauler with Stingray tune.

    Supernaturally as-pirated, all-alcohol, all-motor.

im just not sure why anyone would use e85 when it costs more than 87 AND gives you less mpg?

Use it for the power potential not the fuel costs

Yea, those ghetto ass conversion kits are a cheap trick that will definitely be FAR from a reliable and fully calibrated setup. All they are doing is adding duration to the injector pulse width based on some pre-defined algorithm. It has no consideration for programmed voltage offsets or short pulse adders, nor does it actively know the alcohol content.

I'd bet $10,000 cash that I can dial a car in to the teeth with a flex fuel kit (I sell kits for $200 plus tuning) compared to that $449 gimicky setup. They're not using ANY sort of operating feedback from the O2 sensors, trims, or anything from the vehicle's PCM.
