Default To V or Not to V - That is the Question

I'd like to get the forum members' thoughts on this...

IF, big IF, I decide to get rid of my G8 and let's say a <40K mile, <$40K 2009/2010 CTS-V is identified (yes, they are out there), does it make sense to buy a 3-4 year old CTS-V that, in order to make the payment "reasonable" for me, I'll still have to finance over 4 years, maybe more??

The V could be 7-8 years old or more by the time it was paid off. Should that worry me?

I've never bought a used vehicle that would be this expensive, let alone one that might have been pushed a little.

    What do you think?

My friends do it often with Corvettes, Vs, Shelbys etc.

No major issues as long as the car was maintained well.

If you sell the 8 and put it towards the CTS-V it shouldn't be to bad for you.
I drove one of the 11's when they came out I think they are the same gen? I was impressed with it the feel is just good smooth power great handling and a nice interior if you've driven one Im sure you know. For us the back seat just didn't do it though I still have a 5&8 year old kids and the room we have in the G8 is hard to beat for us so held off but I still think about getting one. I say do it if you can and want doubt you'd regret it.

I have often thought of doing the same thing. From a reliability viewpoint I wouldn't have an issue at all.

From what I remember reading, you have to remove the front clip just to replace a headlight lamp. That's a deal breaker for me.

If I get rid of the 8, which is highly unlikely id get a V. Seems like a logical step up. I might get a V as a dd and queen up the G

I love V's but remember, for expenses, they do suck some gas.

I would get the V. But don't forget to look at the maintenance like the above says Cadillacs can be ridiculous

Tempting I guess, but I'm happy right where I am.
Well, sort of, after a few more little things...
I would have to agree with the "expensive" aspect, but I've never hung out on their forums.
    Are they pricey to mod?
