Default Pulled a damaged lifter during cam swap...

So when i pulled my lifters out I found this. what do you guys think happened? engine was running fine. I had the engine out on a stand so we pulled the pan and found a bit of metal in the pickup. everything else looked good. the cam had no visible scarring or damage either.

I'm starting to wonder what kind of pot metal the boys at GM decided to put in these engines. Which cylinder was that from?

Now was that an early Eaton Lifter or the later Delphi. I would be worried if it was a Delphi. Any more photos of the top of the lifter for ID?
