When I did mine I noticed the the center pieces were pretty dirty. Like dried machining residue or something. Take a clean shop rag with some clean oil on it an wipe one and see if yours are the same way. I also pre-lubed all the bearings etc during and after assembly.

Norm, I already used a blue shop towel on them. Only one had oil on it that had hardened. I wiped it off. Most of the trunions have some pitting/scratches from being bagged together.
Charlie, I'm changing mine since the current rockers are pretty sloppy. They rock back and forth too easily.
I noticed some marks on mine too. Mine were all dirty. Hardened residue and dirt. The should ship them clean (clean oil coating),ready to install and packaged better. But they did reduce the noise on mine noticeably I guess since they aren't sloppy like the stockers like you said. I've had no issues with them.

Thanks for the info, Ray. I still have mine on the shelf, waiting on time and desire to install.
Yes for us larger guys that screw can be a pain!

I've seen a couple installs of these and am running them myself. Haven't heard a complaint yet and have no cause to do so myself. In this thread for the info, good stuff.

What socket do I need to turn the engine? I have what I believe to be the aRP bolt. It's a multi point deal. 1 1/4" 12 point wrench is too big, and 1" is too small. I don't see that I have a 1 1/8" wrench. So, is there a socket to purchase?
I used a 1 1/6" socket
