    Default !!cold storage tips!!

Well winter is around the corner and I have finally gotten to the point where I can store it. What are the suggestions for proper cold weather storage.

I put a thing of sta-bil in a full tank, steel wool in exhaust and I bought a big dry dessicant pack that I leave in there. I also put some bounce dryer sheets inside and in the engine compartment. I was told it deters mice. And a battery tender too

Do you run the car to make sure the tank with the sta-bil is fully through the system?

I used to use Stabil on everything for years, good stuff. But I have since switched over to Sea Foam. I like it better than Stabil. I also like to over fill the tires by a couple of pounds and then get them up off the garage floor, moth balls in a sandwich baggy with a small opening on one corner, stick that in engine bay. Then tennis balls in the exhaust tip after spraying WD-40 just inside the tips, dryer sheet under both front seats, battery tender, and then cover her up with a nice car cover. Done deal.

What's the mothballs and dessicant for? Keep critters out?

Yes sir. Critters can do enormous damage under the hood.
