Had a look under a 2010 VE Series 1 today and tried fitting the Series 2 Aero panels to it.

    Long Front Panels

On the underneath surface of both the long front panels are 2 x small metal wedge shaped clips which align to slots which exist under the car. (Marked on the pic below as "clip").

Forward and Aft of the metal clips is a line of 3 holes which align with small (approx 6mm square) holes which exist under the car.
At the very front is another (approx 6mm square) hole which exists under the car.
At the rear outer position is another (approx 6mm square) hole which exists under the car.

These square holes in the car underbody would take some kind of push-in retainer or maybe a threaded nut-sert which is yet to be identified.

There are no square holes to accept retainers down the long outer sill line of the car.

There is no threaded hole under the car to accept a bolt for the inner rear position of the front panel.
(This position is close to the rust proofing or drain plug under the floorpan of the car).

    Summary:
    On each long front panel:
Two metal wedge clips will align.
Five of Nine retainers will align with square holes under the car.
There is no threaded hole under the car to align with the bolt hole in the panel.
***The existing holes are not sufficient to properly attach the Series 2 panels to a Series 1 car.

    Short Rounded Rear Panels

Along the front edge the outer hole overlaps the front panel and shares an existing square hole under the car.
Under the front edge in the centre are two metal threaded nut-serts which when overlapped with front panels take threaded fasteners pinning the front and rear panels together.
The inner rear corner hole lines up with nothing under the car.
In the centre of each rear panel are two holes designed to accept threaded fasteners.....directly under both these holes is the base of the Series1 fuel tank. There are no attachment points under the fuel tank.
Series1 and Series2 fuel tanks are different.

    Summary:
    On each rounded rear panel:
Two metal nut-serts will align which allow front and rear panels to be tied together.
One of Two outer retainers will align with square holes under the car.
There are no threaded holes under the fuel tank to align with the 2 bolt holes in each of the panels.
***The existing holes are not sufficient to properly attach the Series 2 panels to a Series 1 car.

Green dots indicate existing mounting points which will align.

So what you're saying is, it's a no go?

Anyone want to buy a oil pan protector with me to save on shipping costs??

I wonder if any of our forum supporting vendors would look into making their own version of these Aero covers in such a way that they could bolt up.

That depends on if there is any issue with Kooks LT headers installed. Don't want to be melting the protector.

See the 4 bolts on the Series2 rear pieces, they do not line up with the fueltank straps....all 4 are inboard of the straps.
On Series1 fueltank inboard of the straps is nothing but the flat bottom of the plastic fueltank. ie No holes or mounting bosses.
Also just to the rear of the trans-tunnel cross brace on that yellow section there are no holes for the 2 bolts required to mount the long front sections.

I dunno, it kinda looks like those rear panel bolts line up with the tank straps. They line up at the same angle across the tank.

It's going to take some idiot with a paint pen, Series2 panels and a Series1 on a hoist to convince you otherwise I suppose.
