Default Random Contact Dealer Message (No Codes)

Has anyone else on here gotten a "Contact Dealer" message after starting up their car in the morning? It has happened twice now over the last 5 months. I put my scanner on it, and no codes are being thrown. The car drives perfectly, and there are no problems as far as I can tell. I just clear the warning message and go on my way. But it is kind of strange.

Any ideas? Or experiences with this?

No sir. I would be interested to see what it's about. Any outstanding recalls?

I haven't received any recall notices from GM since I bought the car, so I'm not sure. Can they download the recall warning to your car to force you to go to the dealership?

Was this message on your (Dash)? or was through OnStar?

I had an OnStar message to "Contact Dealer" last year for a recall after starting the car up one morning.

    No.
There aren't any open recalls on the G8's.

It was on the dash, I didn't renew my onstar. It was strange though. Everything was working, dash gauges, lights, everything.... It ran just fine. I drove it to work a few miles away and then cleared the warning since it had no codes. I guess I should just chalk it up to software bugs?

Maybe the Dealer is lonely. Kind of like the Maytag repairmen. LOL
