    Default key FOB battery

What kind and where do you get a battery for the key fob.

Mine will usually only work once and then quit until a little while later it will work again like it might have a weak battery.

Insert tool at angle and pry back to seperate two halves with enough effort release the tab.

Note angle of tool once to halves release

Two halves apart with one flipped over

    Gently sperate battery cover

Make sure to put battery in the same way and reverse to put back together by sliding everything back and you will here a snap when the to halves slide together.

Same procedure for fixed key. One 2032 battery is needed.

    Disregard.

Found out it is common 2032 and replaced it.

Seems to work better as in it can be pesuhed several times and it continues to lock and unlock doors. No improvment in the range though.

I did not have to reprogram it so it seems so far. I have not driven the car though.

NO problems there but I have a thin stout tool from Snap On that worked very well. YOu stick it in at an angle and push the cover back. I at first kepts stick the tool in straight and got no where that way.

Also the remote still does not work any better. If I try to lock the doors from more than say 50 feet away I can get them to lock once and after that it does nothing. The RKE system on this cars sucks big balls. We can start our Tahoe from what seems like a block away and this car you have to be practically sitting in it for the remote to work.

We have two remotes for it and both are the same. for lack of working properly.

Can you expand a bit on the how-to for this? Mine seems to be dying on my switchblade fob.

My switchblade keyfob died all together. It would work for a day or 2 then I would have to reprogram it to the car. I ended up replacing thebattery but ended up nneeding a new electronics in it. Replaced under warranty, havnt had a problem since.

X3, I do remember reading a how to somewhere on the net. If I remember right, open the switchblade key and you will see a opening/slot. I think that slot has something to do with it.
