    Question Texas G8 Meet: Date

    Date Set:
    March 25-27th

    >>>> The date will be determined on December 17th.

Please select your preferred date through the polling options for the event.

Please post your secondary preferred date indicating second choice.

    ==============

    Copy/Paste from Texas Meet thread:

    Here we go.....

I gave up on the Temple Dragstrip (Central Location) since I was not sucessful contacting the owner the second time. I was able to contact him the first time in May when we were thinking about an October 2010 meet, but was not able to make out much of the information over the poor reception on his cell phone. Voice mails were left over the last four months with no response. Enough with the whining.

Considering the above circumstance I have now talked to a coordinator at Lonestar Motorsports Park for the event. Lonestar Motorsports Park is located in Sealy Texas, which is outside of Houston Texas on the west side. One positive to switching to this location is that they will provide a very small road course race against the clock. We will be renting the entire track for our cars only, while welcoming any spectators.

The event will consist of door prizes, raffles, awards, car show, mini road course race, and drag race. Details of each sub-event will come later.

Timeframe will be in March 2011 Saturday/Sunday. If we get enough interest we could do something on the Friday evening before the event weekend. The track portion of the event will be all day Saturday followed by a car show on Sunday to wrap things up. Now there are three weekends in March 2011 that are available: March 4&5 / March 11&12 / March 25&26. Yes, spring break is that month but there is no way we can accomodate everyones timeoff across Texas. I will start a thread with voting options for the potential three available weekends.

The cost to participate in this event, all or something, will be $50 per vehicle, and $10 for spectators at the track.

Lots of details to follow as soon as I can get a firm date and head count. We would really like for everyone to participate so you do not regret missing the event after going through the pictures/videos.

Please note that just because the event is held in Texas does not mean you have to reside in Texas to participate.

    Secondary date- 12&13

I'm actually open to all dates. I'm going regardless of which weekend it is.

Also, if you need help with anything I'd be glad to help.

I voted 12/13, but I should be pretty flexible if the date is set soon.

Why the low response? I thought everyone was excited to see this thing happen. Let's get the word out.
