For the first time in it's life, the G8 didn't start on the first try. It sounded really weak even though I've driven the cat as recently as Sunday.

I'm off to buy a new battery - hearing the stories here there's no sense trying to rejuvenate a dying battery.

I'm still on the original battery, bought the car in 8/08. My commute is 86 miles/day, so that may have something to do with it.

Yeah, my car is going into battery saver mode to much. Just add that to the list of things to fix before the warranty runs out.

Thankyou Sir, I replaced the battery. However, my cd player is no longer working and I'm hearing a clicking sound from the dash or engine compartment area. I believe that in that thread that you posted, there was some issue with the radio/cd player that had caused someone problems. The wind is blowing to danged hard today, to listen for it under the hood. The clicking sounds like an automatic breaker that resets then trips. I just put the new battery in today. I used a load tester on the old battery and the needle pegged over on bad. I guess that I may have to bite the bullet and take it to those azzholes at the dealer. I pulled the fuze on the Onstar and also tried the other fuzes by the battery one by one, and the clicking was still there. It is hard to hear not loud at all and is not the cd player, it makes a different sound. I am going to read the rest of that super long thread. I was going to unhook the onstar anyway, the fuze will do it right? This is about as bad a pain in the rear as the Super Secret Passlock security system on my Grandam, which eventually got unhooked by me.

You dont know how long a new car sat on the lot before they sold it... how many times it was drained and recharged for weekend testdrives. I've seen new cars sold with weak batteries.

I think we are having this on our 2010 Tahoe. After a short while of having the radio on it goes into battery saver mode and shuts down in less than a hour of of it being on.

Mine was only at my local dealer a short time, but then I found out it had been for sale at two other Pontiacs that moved it on or went out of business. Plus the car was on a long boat ride and trucked from a port before any of that too. So even tho mine had 50 miles on it, I knew it had sat around a loooong time. I changed the oil the first week I had it.
