    Default Gatorback replacement strangeness

Has anyone here replaced their serpentine belt with the gatorback 4061010? I just replaced mine a week ago and I've noticed an almost "supercharger" like whine coming from the engine at WOT. Anyone else experience this, or am I going crazy?

i haven't replaced mine yet but i did on my colorado and noticed more of a whine. thought it was my alt starting to go.

i also work at a parts store (partsource......kinda like advance auto), anyway i have heard some other comment about this. i think it might have something to do with the cross grooves in the belt

I'm running one with my sc. It doesn't slip at all, no problems. I can't hear any difference.

I like to pretend I have a supercharger now since I replaced it. Good to know I'm not losing my mind.

What is the benefit of the belt over OEM?

I read that after a certain amount of time the engine would chirp or squeak with the stock belt, mine started to emit a high pitched sound at WOT before I replaced it. I actually think the whine I am hearing might be the sound from my CAI sucking air in. But I'm not totally certain of that. One thing I did notice is that since I have a 2008, I have the atari gauges and they jumped up a bar on the alternator output, which is kind of strange. But it could mean the stock belt was slipping after all. Can't say for sure.
