    no thanks!
Yep. Just proves even more that almost all traffic offenses - particularly speeding - are revenue generating scams and have little to nothing at all to do with safety.

    Not necessarily...

What it means is that those that would shrug at a $500 fine are not able to shrug a fine like this. $500 to me would be a shit load of money for a speeding fine, but someone that makes hundreds of thousands or millions a year? They won't think twice about it and will keep going out and keep speeding excessively.

There are all different points of view.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need(s)" - Karl Marx- Communist / now known as "Marxist"

You see in this flawed mentality, you have no real freedom. You only exist to ensure everyone coexists with some sort of fallacy that everyone can have a good life by taking from successful people and giving to lazy unproductive members. Which ultimately removes much of the incentive folks have to become wealthy or to do better in life.. Why have millions of dollars- If a bottle of water is going to cost you 1000s of dollars.. When you can make 10K a year, and that same bottle of water is proportionally the same cost to you. maybe a penny.

You pay more just because you can afford it. How F'd up is that.

So when I stop at Burger King.. What if they charged based off this system. I may pay 10 bucks for a cheeseburger.. while a poor person pays a penny.

Sad thing is, with our progressive tax system-- we are already very similar to this in many ways. That is why 85% of the taxes are paid by the top 10% of income workers. (rough estimated numbers) while 47% of people pay NO federal income taxes.

Read the story. It's not even in this country. If you know the law, and we all do, you pay the fine.
    Rest in Peace Charlie!

    Agree totally!

When you get pulled over and the officer says without prompting to send the court a letter asking for lieniency and they will reduce it to a parking ticket so you dont get points it's definitely about generating revenue.
