RWHP, but not sure how many people have dynoed their car with HFC's and what type of dyno was used

that's sort of what i'm looking for. Almost 30bhp sounds like a lot for just cats. i know they're restrictive but dang.

All horsepower was rated at the wheels...they free up a ton of power....the stock cats are extremely restrictive!!
Drive proud...enjoy GOING SOLO, and turn a few heads!

I dyno in the range of people with stock cams and headers ... and I have stock manifolds and SOLO HF Cats. Dyno numbers in sig. The cats really open up a lot of "feel it" power.

    Good times.

I have a question about high flow cats. Will they pass emissions?

Doug, did you do any back2back testing from stock cats to these with no other changes?

I had my SOLO cats installed when I came due for strict NYS Emissions and I passed with flying carpets.

From what I've heard, NYS Emissions are not as strict as California emissions (all modifications in CA need to be CARB certified) but much more stringent than most other states. NO PROBLEMS with high flow cats and the O2 extenders that come with them. If you throw a CEL, that's a redflag for most inspections, but the SOLO HF Cats don't throw a CEL if installed properly and all the "readiness monitors are complete".

Unfortunately, I only got dyno'ed once, and it was after all my mods in my sig. Wish I had the $$$ to do dyno comparisons, but other people have.

Countryclub007 (on the other board) had SOLO Catback, SOLO HF Cats (compared this to his stock baseline run, gained 20rwhp) and then added some headers and gained an additional 5 more. He said that it was without an intake, and without any tune. With a tune, his numbers are even higher. Here are his non-tune numbers:

    Baseline Run
    HP 294.52
    TQ 312.80

With Mach Catback, Solo High-Flow Cats
    HP 314.60
    TQ 328.05

With Mach Catback, Solo High-Flow Cats, Kooks LongTube Headers
    HP 317.19
    TQ 333.38

After he went "all in" ... here are his numbers:
(His dyno graphs are no longer on his photobucket account, boooo)

    Line 1. Baseline
Line 2. Solo High Flow Cats and Mach
Line 3. Solo High Flow Cats, Mach, Kooks 1 7/8" LT Headers
Line 4. Solo High Flow Cats, Mach, Kooks 1 7/8" LT Headers, Roto-Fab Intake, VMS HSRK, Livernois Tune

    Final results:
    348.96RWHP / 357.80RWTQ

    Difference in baseline: +54.43RWHP / +45.01RWTQ

    Factor in 18% drivetrain loss = 411.77HP / 422.20TQ

    Difference in baseline: +64.23HP / +53.11TQ

    That's about it from Cntryclub007.

From my personal (zepcom) experience, comparing driving the car to the shop TO get the HF Cats installed... to comparing the drive home, it's definitely between 20-30 rear wheel horsepower difference... definitely noticeable improved throttle response off idle (The car loves to jump off the line excitedly now) as well as definitely more mid and high range power available, compared to what you're used to.

In my opinion, if you're not planning on a supercharger or cam upgrade (no internal engine mods) then the HF cats without headers is the way to go. Similar results to a stock car with headers, without the header rasp/noise increase. I say it that way because if you are considering FI or a more aggressive cam, then headers with integrated cats (or no cats if that's your thing) then you will get the most 'bang for your buck' with headers along with those other mods.

    Best of both worlds, imho.

    Hope this helps.
