    Default Splash Guards Installed

Since I will be driving my G8 this winter in the buffalo area and because the rear lower quarter panel is getting rock damage, I decided to get the splash guards.

They were pretty easy to install but you do have to jack up the front to drill holes for the front ones, and the rear wheels have to be removed in order to drill two holes for each rear. All the holes were 8mm (5/16").

My opinion: They came out OK. I think they would be much nicer if they were painted, but the soft almost rubber-like plastic would take special paint i don't have.

I think the rear ones looked tacked on and could have been made to a better fit and finish.

    Check it out for yourself:

I know this has been posted before but I could never find enough pictures.

I would agree about the rear also since the front fit so nice

I don't know. I have a set I intend to put on mine to protect against the Chicago winters. At first I thought similarly to you, but looking at your pics, the rear ones really have a lower profile, and look pretty good themselves. The fronts overlap the side of the car a fair amount.

Also, I saw a set of guards on another car (Bonneville, maybe?). that were painted body color, which was a burgundy Looked pretty cheesy. Make sure it's a really nice job if you paint em. Although since you probably would paint them black, it may look a whole bunch better.

Thanks for the pics. Please post more if you do paint them!

I'm thinking about having the person putting on my clear bra do the areas behind the wheels too. Not sure yet though.

The rear ones are a pain, they are held on with plastic pins and you have to remove the wheel to allow enough room to do anything.

I put the same ones on. They're a necessary evil where I live. They're actually decent looking, as far as splash guards go.
