Man ... you're the equivilant of a dealer saying "hey, try this, just one hit" and the next day you got your needle up into your veins and doing it hardcore.

Can't say as if I've heard of anyone doing the washer mod on an aftermarket catback/axelback before...

    Good times.

Hey someone has to be 1st! I figured the UltraFlo X would quiet down the aftermarket mufflers so much I would be forced to do washers, or not, I will see in two weeks when I get it all together.(Another reason I went that way is in case it is loud or drones I can quickly throw the stock mufflers on in 10 mins if I have too, like after xmas when I travel from NJ to Naples Florida with the family)
Plus I just can't keep my hands off them washers!

I had to remove my washers. I was getting a check engine light. I removed the washers and the light was gone. Plus when I looked under there, there was lot of soot around where the washers were. Anyone else have this problem? Because I do miss the sound and would like to go back, but not if it it messing up sensors. Thanks.

    Default CEL light with washers

Don't know why you got a CEL with the washers. Actually I think it may be something else. If you have a Cortex see what the code is that was thrown. I bet it has nothing to do with the washers, I am nearly sure.

+1. I haven't read on issue from anyone getting a CEL going WMA. Same would go for modifications that would be even more extreme than WMA, like going with a SLP Loudmouth setup, or any other muffler delete.

You can go to a Schuck's/O'Reilly's/Checker's and use their OBD II scanner to find out what code you threw. But I agree with AVIDMOTION, I really doubt it was the washers (because if you think about it, a SLP Loudmouth then should cause an even worse problem).

No! The washers go on the axelback flange (by the rear axel), not the flange near the cats or near the headers! You got it all wrong!

    Good times.

Probably your gas cap. I've heard guys throw nuts around these things without any codes thrown...can't be the washers.

Wish that could explain it, but no, I had them in the correct location I'm putting them back in and we'll see what the Cortex says next time. Hopefully it won't throw a code again. Meantime I'll enjoy the sound again.
