Many of us do. And often when we do, they take it the wrong way...i.e. you "making your car have a problem by reading too much". No, not really

Once in a while, my GT would have a 2-3 flare but then for the longest time, nothing. Now all of a sudden in the past 2 days I'm getting it there once in a blue moon and more frequently--and to the point of worrying me with how it feels--a hesitate & "uhhh..." at 4-5 in normal Drive. Started driving in Sport mode more to "prevent" it but once in a while can still feel something. Unexpected with the 4-5 in addition to 2-3, now at 14.5k miles.

Now...as for the dealer...explaining it...and being able to replicate without resulting in joy ride beach's G8 for the day, burn up gas, smash big bumps, then late give me a "we didn't feel anything". Hence, I'm more tempted to leave it be until it's really bad...or I can get it elsewhere, like my original selling dealer.

Ok---- I am not sure if I agree with this listing to use for this flare issue. for instance, by using the ring seal 24238248 it may temporarily fix the FLARE issue but it will only be temporary.... note: this ring seal is the SAME EXACT ring seals that were used in the original design and GM redesigned this seal (including a different Material and addition of tabs so the seal doesnt rotate) due to the fact that there was a high possibility that this material will wear out over time and cause issues!!! they were right@@@!!!. NOw by using the same ring seal, what is going to happen beside it wearing out 10,000-30,000 miles...... This design also DOES NOT INCLUDE the orings under the ring seal as shown in the manuals and tech information... it is simply a ring seal with no Orings.... THe FIX includes new Ring seals (24246695), additional orings (24250486), and new stator shaft (or pump assembly--depends if they expect dealer to press it out and press the new one in the pump). The new stator shaft has notches in it to accept the anti-rotate tabs on the ring seals and also the proper depth for the addition of the orings.... so I would push the dealer to replace these items... otherwise, you will be replacing it again in the near future....

Some of the other part numbers listed do not make sense such as the Valve Body Spacer plate..... not sure why they replaced that... the other seals replaced are typically replaced anytime a trans is pulled and serviced...

I wish you good luck. I will be taking my car in the spring with lots of info for the dealer to become aware... and will fight this because replacing the old ring seals with new ring seals of the same old design is not the proper answer!!!!!!!! My worry is that service and GM will only wisen up when people bring it back in the second time in the future for the same issue..... There are people working on this but it may take some time to convince due to the extra initial costs involved to do this repair properly.

This is my exact concern, I dont feel like letting someone joyride my car to try to reproduce something that only happens cold. My question is, is this bad for the overall life of the transmission, or will it just get worse till its fixed without causing any major damage?

Just thought I would give a quick update to this issue:
If you are going in to get the 2-3 flare fixed, then I would suggest the following:
Have the dealer order the "Cover kit" #24248573. this kit includes a new pump cover and stator shaft with everything required. They will probably also order some extra seals (the seals that one would replace when taking a trans in and out). But if they want to order or have on their order receipt the part #24238248, then they are planning on simply replacing the same exact ring seals that are currently in your trans. This may fix a some of the issues or "lessen" it, but the best fix is to get the COVER kit as listed above..... the new stator shaft has different grooves in it which allows an oring to be installed under the new design ring seal. Much better setup.. (same setup in the camaros and all new 6L80's... and 6L90'd for that matter....)

    Good luck!
