For those of us who can't get it warrantied, how much would it cost to fix this issue?

I was told if it was a mechanical failure or a safety issue they could.

The pontiac/buick/gmc dealer in question was closed by GM "technically" they lost their gm backing and can't sell any new cars there as of lst month. There lot is completely empty and they are only doing service work. Word is GMAC owns the land and has already sold it to the school system in the area...

The current owner of the facility is fighting GM in the court system and the Chevy dealer doesn't want to get into a pissing match for obvious reasons when they will end up with the line anyways in a few months.

I don't argue b/c the dealer I bought my car from tried to refuse to do work on my car back when it just had a CAI. I will NEVER go back to that dealer and one of my friends is the parts dept. manager there. Sad really when a service manager pisses off people that bought cars from them... They were also the same dealer that told me i didn't have an oil leak they just spilled some oil the last time it was changed. this was 4000 miles after the last oil change and 2 months time. They said after time the oil will heat up and reliquify and run down. THAT was an oil pan leak and I'm no mechanic but how much brain power does it take to know hey look oil is coming from the oil pan...

Sorry LOL I hate certain dealers...

at a dealer... probably starts at a grand knowing how they charge for stuff...

Rpm transmissions quoted 1395 including beefing up the parts to hold more power on another thread in here.

The 2-3 flare is a mechanical problem. GM did a redesign for the 2009? up 6L80. They revised the sealing rings on the stator support by adding a rubber o-ring under the seal to, well help it seal better. It requires a new stator support as well, I think the groves are a little deeper to accommodate for both pieces. GM actually has an update kit available, has new stator support and o-rings.

Not sure of a TSB or recall though. I will get the GM part number for you, it might help you get the dealer to fix it.

    Thanks for the TSB #

They actually fixed it in the 2009 and up transmissions, or so they say. It is the 2008 down that should have the possible flare.

the colder it gets the worse mine got and the more frequently it happened. Its not cold here either just the days we hit 40's or 50's I notice it the most. Usually first thing in the morning.
