25W HID Fogs will MELT
I installed a 25W 6000K HID fog kit a week ago and I have carnage on the lenses and the housing. I have ran the fogs for a max of 15min once a day for the past 5 days. Check out the pics and I would think twice before doing this MOD. Now I need to go and price new fogs. Does the GXP front use the same fogs? I am thinking one that did the conversion would have them if they are not the same.

Does anybody make a halogen bulb that won't melt the housing? Looking to have a little color change on the G8 and the Silverado since they have the same bulbs.After checking the temps of the factory bulbs and even some slightly better regular bulbs I thought this might be the case

Supposedly the ion spark bulbs wont but they get pretty damn hot too, I just left the stock bulbs in for now :\ LED might be the only way to go unfortunately.

There is a person on the other board that used a infared thermo and tested stock vs hid in the fogs and the temp difference was very little. He was using 3k bulbs I believe. Maybe the 6k is too much? I'm doing 25w-3k fogs right now, so I guess I'll find out.
