Default Negative FeedBack pending on Kooks Axle Back purchase

Okay I purchased a set of Kooks Axle backs from a member here. Upon his first pics I realized the tips had been cut off and re-welded. Prior to the purchase I asked for better pictures of the re-welding as they looked a bit rough. The buyer agreed and said he would get me some pictures later that day.

These are the pictures I received.

now they looked a bit rough to me but I figured I could work with what I saw here. Today UPS showed up with the package. He shipped the axleback well packaged and pretty quickly so I give him some credit. To my dismay this is what I opened up and saw. Now buying online has been pretty good to me and I have sold quite a bit of things online as well with a 99% positive rating. Now anything I sell I always want to address any negatives to the buyer prior to payment. This axle back was misrepresented to me as you can tell in this video.

I've known this member for about 6 years. I'm surprised he didn't tell you about all the blown through holes. They look like 1st gen axle backs. I have some 2 1/2" stainless I can send you if you can weld it up. I know it's not the answer your looking for.
    Rest in Peace Charlie!

I appreciate that I really do. I just couldn't believe he would fail to mention that to me or even take pics of the WORST side of the welds. When selling something online you should always address the WORST issues with the parts and he sure dropped the ball with that on this transaction.

Sorry wasn't on yesterday. PM sent. The whole deal this sale and the agreed lower price was knowing that this piece on the tips was going to be taken off and re-welded and Xplicit you told me you wanted to cut it off and re-weld the tips. And the price they sold for is way less than any price posted in the thread for that reason. I'm not trying to misrepresent or beat anybody on this forum which is why I agreed to the price that finally sold at

    I replied to your PM.

Price is irrelevant when you are talking about a rusted out muffler with a weld job that is going to be alot more of a pain in the ass to fix vs what the pictures that you sent me led on. My thing is why send me a picture of the good side when I am talking about having to repair them. You needed to send me the worst side to know exactly what I was getting myself into. The welds on the other side looked fixable. The flip side looks like more of a pain in the ass than I would of wanted to deal with.

Besides the fact of the stuff rattling around inside. Is it rust? Did these things just sit outside in the weather. Hell I could find alot of better ways to spend that kind of money on besides some rusted out hack job welded mufflers that I will only throw in the trash.

Damn. I'm amazed sometimes at some peoples welding. Any muffler shop could have done 10x better than that for cheap. That's what happens when people who don't know how to weld try to learn.

Sorry dude, that sux, but it can be fixed.

Almost looks like some of the welding I used to get with my 110v ARC welder. I'd take a grinder to it. If all you have is a 110V budget get a flux-core.

yeah more than likely it CAN be fixed. However my thing is why send me misleading pics of somewhat half ass decent welds only to be disappointed when I see the joke of welds on the flip side. I would much rather see the worst part than the good only to be surprised upon delivery.
