Default Soon to be GXP Owner.

Well, thanks for havin' me on the forum folks.

The name's Chris, I currently drive a 2003 Lincoln LS V8, and have always had a soft spot in my heart for fast 4 doors.

I remember when I saw the first news about the G8 back in 2006 or whenever that was. I thought to myself... wow, thats probably going to be my next car. I didn't really think much else of it for a while until I saw that the Dodge Challenger was coming out, so I got into new car mode. I was immediately taken by the Challengers gorgeous styling but when it finally came down to the details of it... It sucked. I took a test drive, the interior was blah and darker than asphalt on a moonless night, better than most chrysler products, but still blah, and the steering was unresponsive and unsatisfying.

So after my heart was so brashly ripped from my chest and stomped on... I didn't want to give up on my dreams of a new car. I looked around at the Camaro, wasn't nearly as taken by it, but I was into the idea... ended up facing the realization that it would take until October to get an order, and then winter would arrive and in Michigan that is an invitation to wrap yourself around a tree. So it would essentially take a whole year to get one... fuck that.

I considered the 2010 Mustang, but then again my father is getting a 2010 Shelby Gt 500 with his retirement bonus, so I guess I'll leave that excitement to him.

And considering I'm in Finance, the classier styling of a 4 door, far out-trumps a hot two door.

So here I am at the G8, and because of some sickness I have, If my car isn't the best it can be, I want to keep attempting to upgrade it. So I'm just going to buy the top of the line GXP and hope I can keep my upgrading habit in check... 415 horsepower should be enough to satisfy....

I've yet to take a test drive, but after all I've read, a BMW M5 for 40 grand and you can buy American (sorta...) I'm nearly sold. Since I live in Detroit, even if the car isn't built in your local area, support the parent company.

Well its gonna be a few months comin' but I'll have those pictures of a Stryker Blue or Panther Black (I kinda want the red interior) GXP one of these days.
