As someone that just bought a G8, I’ll explain my mindset for those wondering what a new G8 owner is like.
This isn’t news to anyone, but there are few performance sedans available these days. I considered many of them, including coming close on: BMW 3 series and Cadillac in either a CTS-V or ATS-V, but I just couldn’t bring myself to own either of those cars considering my working class roots. I looked at the Charger, but outside of Jeep MOPAR just never did anything for me. The SS, well it’s too modern Malibu. Don’t get me wrong, I considered all those cars because they truly are fantastic machines. The G8 just has the right combination of style and power potential that’s missing in today’s lineup.
My point is, for those of you with low mileage well cared for G8’s, I think there will always be enthusiasm for your cars. It might be a little early in the cycle to expect collector type prices, but it’s not going to be long.
My car’s a higher mile example that’s a DD, so I have no reason to hope mine will be any type of collector. But it’s a blast to work on and drive.
This board helped me see that potential and a big reason I bought mine. I had parts ordered for the car the week I brought it home. For those that have documented their trial and error over the years, I can’t thank you enough.
