That Pontiac is going to be cut. The only possibilities for GM to cut is Pontiac and Buick. GMC is the truck division essentially and Caddy and Chevy are staying no matter what.

Now in a perfect world, they would cut Buick, which is making good designs, and bring the enclave and lacrosse super over with small design tweaks as Pontiacs, I don't think that would be too bad. But i'm getting a sneaking suspicion that the gov't is going to to make GM get rid of one or both of these brands.

pontiac may go but Holden will stay... that being said if they cut the G8 im sure chevy will but a bowtie on it and sell it in the states. In all reality Pontiac does have the better lineup of economy cars vs. buick and caddy...

I don't know, when Buick knocked off Lexus, that statement would make it hard to just pull the rug out from under them in favor for Pontiac. Either way, I think the G8 will live on. Anyone hear the words Chevy Lumina out there (other than our middle east counterparts)? lol

If they change the g8 to a chevy lumina ss, it would help salvage the loss of pontiac somewhat for me. Hope it doesnt happen though.

And I still think that the core brands will stay. Anyone remember how much it cost GM to shutter Olds? Hell, they just finished paying that bill recently!

It would simply cost too much money to shutter either Pontiac, Buick, or both.
