Strut Mounts Moving

Weird question but I have never been able to look under the hood while driving

Are the strut tower top caps supposed to move and flex when you turn the wheel?
I had someone turning the wheel and they were flexing pretty good.

I am trying to solve a clunking sound when I turn the wheel. I just replaced the mounts with a pedders kit last year so I hope it's not them.
Would a motor mount be a possibility?
Sounds like it's coming from there or around the inside of the rack.

Yes they should move when steering wheel is moved. Check your sway bar links, they are known to become loose and make noise.

I checked and they seem tight. Now I noticed a crack in the motor mount so Im wondering if that is shifting
