Default New GT owner from Mooresville, NC!

    Hey Guys!

New member here with a Sport Red Metallic 09 GT. I have the premium/Sport package, no sunroof. First I want to say how much I like my new car!! My other car is a stock 98 Buick Regal GS with 195K miles. It too is a nice car with good power, but it is no sport sedan. Front wheel drive, torque steer and comfortable but unsupportive seats makes sure of that... as do the Buick century underpinnings. My last "Musclecar" was a long time ago. It was a '73 Camaro Z-28 replica with a warmed up LT1 corvette engine and Turbo400 tranny. That car was scary with its MANUAL brakes and 400hp. Many times I thought I thought I was gonna push my foot through the floorboard trying to get that car stopped in time. Never wound up in the woods though. Never had any kind of accident in the 11 years I had it. I sold it to a 17 year old kid and told him how I never scratched it and to please not wreck my friend. A month later I get a phone call, kid gave it too much gas in a corner and spun out into a bunch of trees. Not totalled though. I hear its still around the Hamptons where I used to live (Sag Harbor).

Anyway, the GT is a wonderful beast. No Fred Flintstoning this car to stop it. Great brakes, though muted feedback. Handling is simply superb. There is simply no substitute for RWD in making a car handle well. Ever see a FWD race car Engine is great but it is a bit strangled in stock form. I have a Cortex tuner on the way and I'm still deciding on a CAI. Would also like a axleback system but don't want the drone issue and like the highway MPG brought by the AFM. Right now I am just interested in tuning the engine and tranny to give me the power I payed for and correct the goofy shifting.

    Happy Fathers Day!!

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your modding. I say go with vector instead of the cortex if you plan on modding all the time.
