Texas World Speedway this weekend
Went out to TWS this weekend, always a blast. My first time on the track in 12 years and of course first time with anything as big or heavy as the G8. My last track able car was my 98 Camaro which was 30% lighter with 50% more tire on it.
Observations:
holy roller. Even with BMR bars set to the softest in the front and hardest in the rear the roll was almost unbelievable. The flip side is that is that it didn't plow a ton either, not that this track is that plow inducing.
The auto did ok at track duty. This is a fast long track so it stayed in 4th most of the time.
Brakes were a small problem... EBC blue stuff pads got up to temp nicely and were good for 6-7 laps, then they would give a little, not a lot but enough I needed to back off to stay comfortable.
After 12 years, it was good to knock the rust off. I had some good laps in the 2:10 - 2:12 range which I'm pretty happy with.

Well... we'll see. Motor might be hurt. May have munched some material off the cam bearings, but oil pressure is OK, no knocking, no funny noises.... Seems OK after the oil change.
