    Default Lost trans selector

Has anyone lost the selector function on their car. IO went switch to park and lost it. Now the handle is in the park position but the vehicle thinks it is in drive, ie cannot crank the vehicle. Any ideas?

I don't know you. I don't know what have done. If you are looking to talk up a race for 3 hours, I can tell you I don't have the time. But what I do have are a very particular set of parts; parts I have acquired over a very long career. Parts that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you go home, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not punk you. But if you don't, I will punk you, I will race you, and I will embarrass you.

Yep, it totally happened to me & it was a pretty easy fix. There is an E-clip or grommet that holds the cable/rod that goes into your transmission. Mine fell off, so my brother in law and I duct taped it in place, and it was fine to drive.

But I took it to the dealership and they fixed it with the OEM part. They also complemented me on the Long Tube Headers!

Thanks. I only take something to the dealer as a last resort on things. you never know when the service manager's need to save money on warranty work overcomes his common sense. lol.

It is the plastic clip that hold the shifter to to the linkage, it breaks very easy. I used an E-clip and a washer, it was an easy fix.

they have told me it broke the entire trunion. Replacement part MAY arrive in 4-5 days!!! Someone is PISSED !!! They tried telling me its ok they'll get me a rental , so I told them if it's no big deal, and they haven't sold a G8 in a month, to steal it off of their display car and fix mine.

Anyone want to guess what I got stuck in as a rental car?

    A Chevy Uplander

    A DAMN MINIVAN!!!

If anyone hears about a rental car that careens off of an I77 overpass, dont be surprised
